Medical Microdermabrasion Facial Resurfacing Treatment
Microdermabrasion is a safe and non-invasive resurfacing technique that is primarily used to remove the top layer of dead skin cells. The treatment is quite simple and yet, a highly effective step that uses exfoliating crystals and a vacuum suction.
It provides deep exfoliation from all the dead skin cells that have accumulated on top of your skin, by reducing congestion, and clogged pores. By removing dead skin cells and stimulating blood flow, the deeper dermal level of the skin is stimulated to produce collagen and fibroblasts (collagen-producing cells).
Microdermabrasion facials result in brighter, smoother, and more rejuvenated skin, with enhanced skin surface quality. This treatment can be used on most skin types with little to no downtime.
The Benefits of Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion skin treatments make your skin look vibrant and replenished and include the following benefits:
- Smooths the skin.
- Reduces pore size.
- Improves skin texture.
- Improves the look of scars / acne scars.
- Brightens pigmentation & dark spots.
- Allows better penetration of skincare products.
A microdermabrasion treatment may include extractions if needed, which will help reduce acne, reduce pores, milia, and blackheads. Microdermabrasion can be personalized to your skin type.
A Chemical Peel may be added to intensify the treatment, as well as other treatment add-on’s such as Advanced Vitamin Infusion Therapy, O2 Oxygen Infusion, and more.
What to Expect After a Microdermabrasion Facial?
After the treatment, the treated area may be rosy/pink and potentially sensitive for a while after the treatment. This is due to stimulation of the skin. As microdermabrasion may be a stimulating treatment, we recommend not to wear makeup for at least 24hrs after your facial to avoid breakouts.
With congested and oily skin types, breakouts may occur after the skin is exfoliated and softened, when congestion underneath the skin has had an opportunity to come to the surface.
With every exfoliation treatment, please avoid direct sun exposure for a minimum of 1-2 weeks after your treatment and be diligent with wearing SPF.
When Will I See Results?
Results of smoother and brighter skin may be seen immediately after treatment. For desired results, a series of additional treatments may be added.
How Long Does a Microdermabrasion Facial Take?
